Sarah Charlesworth

One photographer that I know is going to go places is Sarah Charlesworth, she is definitely someone that I would absolutely love to meet and when you take in the picture above, I swear that this chick really has some talent!  Not only can she make something as a flower seem so freakin’ complex, but she can bring it to life right in front of you and really make you think about it!

That is exactly what this picture did for me!  It really made me think about it and that is what I believe a great picture should do to you.  Not only is Sarah Charlesworth one of the best female photographers in the world, but I definitely think that she is thee best female photographer in the world.

So check her out some more and you will see that her work really is incredible and her pictures are definitely worth a second glance!

Marco Tenaglia: Fashion Photography At Its Finest!

Marco Tenaglia

I have to say that I am a little bias.  I know it; I watch ANTM and I am a huge, huge, huge fan of fashion photography.  While I, personally have shot just a few fashion-forward shots (yes, I photograph myself!), I do not consider myself on nearly the level that Marco Tenaglia is at.  Seriously, this guy knows exactly what he is doing whenever he taking a fashion photograph.

I honestly think that he is going to be the next Michael Rosethal and while I love Mike, I think that Marco is coming right up on his heels!  So here is just one of the many pictures available by Marco Tenaglia that you can look at.  This is by far one of my favorite though, so don’t critique it too much!

What types of photographers do you people like?  Come on, give me some feedback!

Bruno Dyan: A Fashion Photographer!

Bruno Dyan

One thing that I’ve noticed about fashion photography is that a lot of people do not understand it really.  To be honest, I don’t really understand it sometimes, but when I came across this picture by Bruno Dyan, I thought it looked pretty neat and it seems that the more you stare at it, the more you kind of get it.  All of the elements in the photo truly are there for a reason and that is what I like about it!

Bruno Dyan is actually a newer photographer and I think that he is going to definitely be on the up and comer list soon if he keeps churning out pictures like this one.  This picture looks absolutely breathtakingly beautiful and I think that you should take a second look at it!

So really — Bruno Dyan people, he is pretty freakin’ awesome with his bad self!

Dixie Fernandez: A New Up and Comer In Bondage Photography!

Tuesday, May 5, 2009

One photography section that does not seem to get a whole lot of attention is the fetish and bondage section and that is exactly what Dixie Fernandez does.  This is just one of the many pictures she has taken where she has placed the model in some type of bondage wear.

Personally, I am not into the fetish photography myself, but I think that it is kind of neat the way that they do it.  I love leather and they definitely do use a lot of that, but I think for me, it is more of a control thing.  I like to be in control versus being controlled, so that is my problem.

But ladies and gentlemen, Dixie Fernandez is a brand new photographer that is an up and comer in the bondage fashion photography and you heard it here first!

Andreas Bitesnich: He Certainly Rocks It Out!

Andreas Bitesnich

Andreas Bitesnich is one of those photographers that I would not have expected that I would like.  Personally, as stated in the previous post, I am more into the gothic photography and the olden times but this – this is nude photography and I have to be honest, I am not the hugest fan of nude photography.  This though, I think that this is by far one of the greatest pictures we have had on this blog to date.  It looks great, is full of energy and is certainly one of the best photographs in the world.

Andreas Bitesnich what many people do not know originally started working in retail but eventually he found his passion for photography via a friend and who was an assistant photographer.  Andreas Bitesnich has no – absolutely no education in photography and that is something that I think is so cool about him.  He really went for it and in 1989 he actually quit his job and started to pursue his career in photography.

Obviously, since he has pictures like this all over, he definitely has made it and is know one of the world renowned nude photographers.  So see, dreams can come true without education!

Pablo Bartholomew: He Deserves More!

Pablo Bartholomew

All right – I have to say that I did not think that I would be doing someone with the last name of Bartholomew, but upon more thought about this blog, I realized that Pablo Bartholomew definitely deserves the spotlight and at least once blog post – after this incredible photo, I really think that he deserves more than just one blog post but we only have time for just one!

This photo spoke to me.  Now, personally, I am more of a morbid person and I have more of a morbid personality, so whenever I see anything like this, it really makes me pay attention and kind of really touches my soul.  That is what this haunting yet incredible photo did to me.  It made me sit up straight and really look at it.

In short, this photo is basically a baby burial and while a lot of people find that incredibly disturbing, I actually find it incredibly interesting.  There are some things that are just strange and some things that are weird and this is one of those things that is just different and strange – all rolled up in one photo!

Jerry Avenaim: Check His Photos Out!

Saturday, April 11, 2009

Jerry Avenaim

Jerry Avenaim is honestly one huge photographer nowadays.  While he was born in 1961 in Chicago, he is definitely a very versatile photographer.  He can seriously photograph everything from celebrities all the way to fashion pictures like this.  Really … there are so many things that Jerry Avenaim can do, it really just blows my mind.

When I was researching this guy for this blog, the first thing that came up was all of his photos of all of the different celebrities and all of the different ad campaigns that he has done.  This guy has done everything from Diesel Jeans all the way to some really high end underwear shots.

The great thing about Jerry Avenaim?  Is that he is still doing his work!  He is still shooting photos and you can definitely find all sorts of his work all over the internet.  So people – get busy and get yourself some of his photos!  I can promise that you will love them!

Richard Avedon: His Pictures Rock!

Richard Avedon

Richard Avedon is one of those photographers that I actually read up on because I liked his photography so much.  Not only are his photos something that look incredible but he is also an American photographer – which is very strange because most of the time, these photos like this one here are done by European photographers.

Richard was actually born in NYC and while he was Jewish-Russian, he actually attended Columbia University and he started in photography in 1942, which is incredible because way back then, there were not a lot of photographers that would do something like this.  Although this incredible guy died in 2004, his pictures will live on forever.

Another cool thing about this particular photographer is the fact that he is also an author.  He has wrote so many different things that honestly, if you wanted to know more about how to become a photographer like him – you could certainly do that!

Garry Winogrand: His Photography Rocks!

Wednesday, April 1, 2009

Garry Winogrand

One of the greatest things about photographers is the fact that they speak to you.  Garry Winogrand is one of those photographers that speak to me.  Not only is he simply incredible in his photos, but did you know that he actually studied painting?  That was what his major was in the City College of New York and then he shifted on over to Columbia University to study photography.

One thing that I love about Garry is the fact that his photos are so different, so strange and yet there is something strangely familiar about them.  I love the fact that they tell a story.  Like this picture – the thoughts going through my mind is about the child.  What the child is thinking, what he is feeling … it was all brought about from the way that the photo was taken.

So the next time you are looking for some photographs to decorate your walls with or simply to look at, you should look at Garry Winogrand’s collection, it is incredible!

Eugenio Recuenco: His Work Is Beautiful!

Eugenio Recuenco

One thing that I love about photographers is the fact that they can tell a story via their pictures.  That is exactly what Eugenio Recuenco is doing.  I have honestly, never, ever been a fan of photographers like I am a fan of his, his artwork is incredible looking and it certainly is some of the best work that I have ever seen.  Not only does Eugenio take photos beautifully, but to be quite frank, his photos match some of the older famous photographers of the world.

This is just one of the many pictures that I could have put up here and basically, this particular photographer is well verse in photos of fairy tale.  Personally, I think that fairy tales are not just for kids and I am so happy that a photographer is really taking an active interest in them.  On his website, I saw all sorts of pictures that he had done beautifully of Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White and even Cinderella.

So the next time that you are looking for a beautiful piece of artwork via a photo, you should check out Eugenio, I can promise that you will not be disappointed in the least and that you will be totally and utterly blown away!
